VAC-U-MAX offers vacuum conveying solutions for handling plastic caps, corks, closures, small molded plastic parts, and moderate-sized containers.

Overview

Pneumatic conveyors are an excellent solution for delivering closures and moderate-sized containers to packaging and filling lines, especially when you need high-speed, long-distance, or elevation-changing transport. VAC-U-MAX offers vacuum conveying solutions for handling plastic caps, corks, closures, and other small molded plastic parts.

SCREW CAP CONVEYING

In one example, we created a pneumatic conveying system to deliver plastic screw caps to various filling lines in a plant. The system includes three special feedbins from which the caps are conveyed to different filling lines within the plant. Vacuum receivers located above each capping machine discharge caps directly into the hoppers, eliminating the need for manual handling and dumping and reducing the chance of contamination.

PLASTIC BOTTLE CONVEYING

In a second example, VAC-U-MAX provided a custom solution to a personal products manufacturer. They needed to get 16-ounce plastic containers to the filling line, but the route from the receiving area to the filling line was impractical for a mechanical conveyor due to distance and changes in direction and elevation.

The custom pneumatic conveying system first collects bottles from an orientation machine. The bottles are then conveyed through six-inch convey tubing along walls and near ceilings—maximizing space and keeping well clear of active production areas.

The bottles are rapidly carried in the negative pressure air stream around corners and between floors to a special clamshell receiver where they are discharged into a hopper at the head of the filling line.
