Overhead Wands & Extensions

Item #: Overhead-Wands

Overhead wands can be used on their own or combined with extensions to reach high, hard-to-access areas in your facility. We offer both straight and single-bend wands for optimal angle, enhanced reach, and operator comfort.

Overview

Safely clean high, hard to reach areas without ladders and lifts. Our aluminum overhead wands and extensions will help you clean walls, high shelves, overhead pipes, ceiling fans, HVAC vents, light fixtures, rafters, and ceilings. We offer both straight and single-bend wands for optimal angle, enhanced reach, and operator comfort.

Do not connect more than three wands at once. If you have an especially difficult reach issue, contact us and we’ll help you find a solution!

Overhead Cleaning: Combustible Dusts

All fugitive dusts are potentially respirable, they inflict considerable wear on equipment, and 80% of process dusts are combustible.

While each combustible dust has a different quantity and concentration threshold for danger, OSHA guidelines state, “in general, a thickness greater than 1/32 of an inch is cause for concern when the surface area covered by settled dust exceeds five percent of the floor area in a given room.” (1/32″ is roughly the thickness of a paperclip.)

Many facilities appear to be free of concentrations of dust at eye level, but the culprit behind many secondary dust explosions is the accumulation of dust in out-of-sight places such as overhead beams, joists, duct work, and the tops of equipment.

VAC-U-MAX overhead tools were designed to help you clean these hard-to-reach areas.

  • Conduit Pipes from 1″ OD to 8″ OD
  • Cable Trays
  • I-Beam flat surfaces
  • Above false ceilings
  • Building Joists
  • HVAC and Dust Collector Duct Work
  • Tops of Machinery
  • Vertical Surfaces: Cinderblock or Brick
